In downtown Bloomington, Crew 2 did careful pruning to remove dead and cicada damaged branches from a few hawthorn trees in the WonderGarden at WonderLab Museum of Science. Led by Ashton Phelps, Crew 2 also pruned the Japanese maple and magnolia for 2-3 foot clearance from the building. The video shows the before and after photos of the tree trimming.
Pruning a large silver maple tree in Ellettsville to remove broken hangers, dead wood, and remove a branch with defect over the road.
Pruning can address wounds, create breathing room, let in light, and promote new growth. Pruning silver maples is important to keep them healthy and to prevent them from causing damage to property. The wood of silver maples is relatively weak, and prone to breakage in high winds or storms.
This project required tree trimming down a curved city road. The tree canopies were lifted in a consistent manner to achieve a uniform look down the street. In addition, visibility for pedestrians and drivers was improved. We used a variety of tree service equipment to complete the trimming, material removal and cleanup.
