Product Inquiry

We want you to be totally satisfied with your chosen Slab Purchase Option, so please consider the following:
  1. "Slab Only": This is a "green", milled slab. It MUST be dried to 8-12% internal moisture content (%MC) before finishing; especially, if the finished product will be stored indoors in a heated space.
  2. "Slab + Kiln Drying": This is a slab vacuum-kiln dried to 8-12%MC. Nominal shrinkage and minor end checking (i.e. cracks) will occur.
  3. "Slab + Kiln Drying + Surface Planing": This is kiln-dried slab flat-surfaced with our planer. Expect 1/2" to 1" thickness loss of listed dimensions for this slab from kiln-drying and planing.

Dimensions were taken as green milled slabs and are approximate. Expect thickness loss and potential changes in the material during drying and surface planing. Often times these changes enhance the character of the slab. Dried and surface planed dimensions are accurate.
